About Beyond Gravity

At Beyond Gravity in Gothenburg, around 200 people work on the development and manufacturing of advanced equipment for use in space. Our main products are computers for launch vehicles and satellites, microwave electronics for telecom satellites, and antennas for communication between various satellites as well as between satellites and Earth.

We are part of a global company, headquartered in Switzerland, and together we are a team of 1800 people in 6 different countries, pushing the boundaries of what is technically possible. Our products are used, among other things, to study climate impact on Earth, support global communication, and explore the secrets of the universe – we contribute to improving life on Earth!

Your Team

The engineering department in Gothenburg consists of around 60 employees plus consultants, working in several different areas of expertise within electronics development. The Systems and Verification section consists of lead engineers, systems engineers, and verification engineers, and has overall responsibility for the design and verification of our digital products, such as onboard computers and interface devices. Your team plays central roles in our projects, both in customer projects and in internal product development, and is responsible for the technical communication with our customers.

Your Mission

As the head of the Systems and Verification Engineering section, you will work closely with other section heads, whose teams are responsible for detailed design, such as electronics design, software and FPGA development, and mechanical design, as well as with project managers and marketing teams.

You are responsible for continuing to build and coach a high-performing team, focusing on delivering our projects and product developments successfully, and creating a strong culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Your area of responsibility also covers development processes and working methods within the team.

The position includes, among other things:

• Leading and developing your team, creating motivation, a good working environment, and a positive team spirit.
• Ensuring that the section has the necessary resources and competencies, and that required resources are allocated to our projects, product developments, and technical bidding work.
• Driving the development of relevant engineering processes and ensuring cost, quality, and customer satisfaction within your area of responsibility in the projects.
• Building and developing collaboration with other parts of the organization, such as other engineering sections, as well as production, project management, and marketing.
• Together with other managers within the engineering department, ensuring good development of both the department's ability to meet technical challenges and its economy.

About You

We believe you have a university degree in a relevant engineering field, such as electronics, software, or aerospace engineering, or have an equivalent technical background, and can express yourself well in both spoken and written form, in both Swedish and English. You have experience in leadership roles, with an interest in leadership and leadership development, and are skilled at coaching your team. Experience from the space or aviation industry, or other complex fields, as well as an understanding of relevant engineering processes and methods is an advantage.

Your personal qualities are important, and as a leader in our organization, you are driven to motivate the employees in your team to grow and challenge themselves. In your work, you are interested in finding solutions rather than focusing on problems and are also willing to be creative in your proposals for actions. With your willingness to collaborate across organizational boundaries, you have the ability to see the big picture, assess situations, understand consequences, and prioritize the right tasks for your team.
